About the Thai Baht

Thailand's official currency is the baht ↱ (symbol: ฿, ISO code THB). 1 baht is divided into 100 satang (สตางค์). As of 2019, it's the 10th most traded currency in the world, and in 2018 it was ranked by Bloomberg as the best performing currency. The baht is also unofficially used in Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

FAQ

Gambling activities ↱ are illegal in Thailand, with the exception of the state lottery and horse betting at the racetracks. Although it's not specifically mentioned in the law, as it's from 1935, online gambling is also illegal, as it is the same activity.

However, this doesn't stop Thai players, and there are illegal casinos, and online gambling has been on the rise as well. Many online casino operators ignore the laws in Thailand, as these focus on establishments within the country, and they accept Thailand resident players to play at their offshore websites. We don't encourage illegal activities, so this page is aimed at players outside of Thailand who wish to play online casino games with Thai baht.

Once you've selected THB as your account currency at the online casino you won't be able to change it at a later date. If you wish to play with another currency you'll need to contact the casino support to close your current, and open a new account. Registering a new account without the casino's knowing isn't recommended, as duplicate player accounts aren't allowed, and you risk loosing your winnings.

Many casinos accept multiple currencies, including US Dollar, Euro or British Pound, but remember that you likely have to pay conversion fees when you select one currency and make payments in another. These conversion fees are usually hidden in the exchange rate of the company or bank that processes the payment.

Online Casinos accept many payment methods, but they vary from casino to casino, and availability of accepted methods also depends on your country of residence.

Casinos typically accept credit cards, but a faster and convenient alternative are e-wallets, such as EcoPayz and Skrill, which also allow you to select Thai baht as an account currency. Other e-wallets and payment methods may not support THB, in which case conversion fees would apply.

Casinos also accept other payment methods, and if you have a specific method in mind, you can take a look at our payments overview to find more options, along with the casinos accepting the payment.

Whether you can get a bonus at the online casino depends on your country of residence. Take a look at the casino to see available bonuses and the terms. If a bonus is offered you can also claim it with a THB deposit, even if the bonus amount is shown in another currency. It's usually converted when you make the deposit.

Yes, you can deposit and withdraw with THB at online casinos that accept this currency for the account. Select the account currency during the registration, and you can deposit and start playing with baht. Take a look at CasinoDaemon to find online casinos with THB currency support.

Before you choose a casino to play for real money you should do some research, and take a look at the license and reputation of the casino. A casino licensed in Europe has to follow strict regulations for anti-money laundering, player protection, fair and tested games and responsible gaming.

Playing at a casino licensed by the MGA or UKGC means you're likely in good hands and get a fair chance - although there are some rogue operators waiting to scam the players. Casinos recommended on this page have a good reputation with players, so you can be rest assured to be in good hands, but in any case we recommend reading the terms and conditions of the casino carefully, including the bonus terms if you decide to take a bonus, as these can be very restrictive when it comes to paying out bonus winnings.

A safe and trustworthy casino is transparent about who operates it, and they will also let you select limits for responsible gambling, such as deposit or loss limits.

There are also casinos licensed outside of Europe, such as in Curacao, which offer much less safety, but there are many operators out there that respect their players and offer a safe gaming environment regardless of the regulations.
