Narcos from NetEnt is based on the popular Netflix television show, that was first aired in 2015, and is now in their third season. The first two seasons of the show are based on the story of Pablo Escobar, a Colombian drug kingpin, whose drug cartel turned him into a billionaire between the 1970s and the 1990s. He died in 1993 of a fatal gunshot wound. The game evolves around the battle between the good guys and bad guys, i.e. DEA officers and drug traffickers. The pace is fast, just like a real car chase would be. You can feel the tension on the reels, and you you'll find yourself waiting for something great to happen. The game has a few interesting features, including walking wild symbols, the random Drive-By Feature, the Locked Up Feature and free spins.
The variance of the game is medium to high, which means that you will probably get regular winning combinations without having to spend too much money, but it might take a while longer until you trigger a higher win. The features trigger regularly, so you won't have to play hundreds of rounds for some action. The theoretical return to player is 96.23%, which is similar to other slots from NetEnt. You can also play Narcos mobile, as the game was developed in HTML5, and is supported on many iOS, Windows and Android smartphones and tablets.

Walking Wilds, Free Spins, Drive-By and Locked Up Feature
The wild symbol with the regular officer's badge can stand in for other symbols to create winning combinations, but it can't stand in for the scatter symbols or Locked Up symbols. There is also a flaming badge symbol, which is a walking wild symbol, and it will stay on the reels and move one field to the left in every spin.
The Drive-By Feature can randomly activate during the main game, and it will transform some of the higher paying symbols into wild symbols.
The Locked Up symbol with Pablo Escobar holding a Catch Me sign can start the Locked Up Feature when three or more of those symbols appear on the same row during the main game. The symbol are then chained together and will show a random coin win of between one and ten times your bet. The feature will then start and the reels will spin. During the spins, only Locked Up symbols and Golden Locked Up symbols with a golden suitcase can appear. When one of the symbols appears next to the chained cluster, it will be added to the cluster and be assigned a random coin win. The golden suitcase has a special function and can reveal a special prize, which can be:
- a multiplier of x2 or x3 applied to the whole cluster
- an upgrade symbol that will increase the value of the total bet by one
- a higher starting value applied to the symbol
You can also trigger free spins by landing three free spin symbols with the car anywhere on reels one, three and five. You will get 10 free rounds, during which the chance is higher than one or more higher value symbols are transformed into wild symbols. Also, if there are still any walking wilds present on the reels when the free spins reach zero, they will continue until the walking wilds are all gone. This means that it is possible to get more than 10 free spins.
